Terms of use for communication via Cryptshare®.

1. purpose of communication via Cryptshare®

For the secure electronic exchange of information with third parties, the Federal Ministry of the Interior uses the web application Cryptshare®. The web application Cryptshare® is not an e-mail system. The system only has the function of an electronic mailbox. The respective sender provides the information for retrieval on the system. The recipient will be informed via e-mail about files that are available for retrieval.

2. restriction of communication content

The communication via Cryptshare® serves on the one hand for the exchange of information that is particularly worthy of protection, or on the other hand for information whose data volume exceeds the limit set by the e-mail system.

3. confidentiality / data security

In order to protect the data from unauthorized access and to maintain confidentiality, both the storage of the data on the Cryptshare® system and the transmission (transfer during setting and retrieval) are carried out in encrypted form and the access to the file stored in the Cryptshare® system is protected by an individually assigned password.

When the data is retrieved, it is not immediately deleted from the Cryptshare® system, but remains available for further retrievals until the communicated expiration date.

Sender and recipient have to take care that no unauthorized persons get knowledge of the given password.

4 Access to information / Timely data retrieval

The files placed in Cryptshare® are considered to have been received upon successful retrieval (download). It is the responsibility of the recipient to ensure the timely retrieval of the files made available to him/her.

5 Liability

The Federal Ministry of the Interior does not assume any liability for malfunctions or problems during communication via Cryptshare®.

6. changes concerning the communication via Cryptshare®.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior reserves the right to discontinue the communication via Cryptshare® at any time.
